Lawrence Orbe trip to the Las Vegas Strip was not about a chance to win big. He didn't come for the strippers or over-the-top entertainment.
He came to commit suicide.
Orbe, 64, arrived at the exclusive Four Seasons Hotel on March 11 after driving his silver Jaguar from his condominium in Montecito, Calif.

Experts insists individuals at risk may have been searching for a final signal not to pull the trigger or tie the noose: A jackpot, blackjack or smile. Anything at all.

A play for gamblers is a win for Arizona's schools - 2004-02-09
When you drop a quarter into an Arizona slot machine, the coin trickles into Tempe's Bustoz Elementary School, where reading trainer Jane Clevenger can spend a few additional hours assisting children to write sentences.

The money is from a proposition voters supported in November 2002 that permitted tribes to provide Las Vegas-style blackjack and include slot machines. In return, casinos deliver a percentage of money from gaming machines to the state Department of Education four times each year.
