In Connecticut’s Danbury, with its population of 75,000 and site in chic Fairfield County, people don’t appear to care much for casinos. The Schaghticoke Tribal Nation, based in Kent, has looked at constructing a casino in Danbury.

Casino battle between Ho-Chunk and city - 2004-02-07
According to city officials, the Ho-Chunk Nation did not submit requested data by Friday proving that the profit sharing agreement the tribe signed with Madison would be legally binding.

In November, the city and county signed agreements with Ho-Chunk that plegde every municipality will receive about $3.5 million a year if the DeJope bingo hall in southeast Madison is converted to a casino.
Dane County voters will be asked in a referendum Feb. 17 whether they are in favor of including games like blackjack and craps to the venue.
