Panel declines Video Lottery Repeal - 2004-02-06
The intent to repeal video gambling and substitute the lost profit with a sales tax hike was declined Friday by a South Dakota Senate Committee.
The state and video lottery businesses divide up the money players lose in the machines, which offer poker, blackjack, keno and bingo games.
Total player losses were $212.2 million in the budget year ending last June, so the state and businesses received $106.1 million individually.
