Tribes' gambling contribution to state falls in third round - 2004-02-02
Arizona's gaming tribes paid the state $6.7 million in January in the third round of quarterly payments since profit sharing began in April.
The state's 15 tribes with 22 casinos have allocated about $22.7 million with the Arizona Department of Gaming in the first nine months of revenue sharing.
The Tucson area's two tribes, the Pascua Yaqui and Tohono O'odham, both began new fiscal years Oct. 1 and are among the state's top four tribes in numbers of slot machines and blackjack tables. Neither announced how much it paid the state.
