USM wants authorization of new school - 2004-02-15
The University of Southern Mississippi wants authorization this week from the state College Board to merge four departments into a new School of Ocean and Earth Sciences.
The new school would be a section of the College of Science and Technology.

USM's proposal calls for including a casino/resort management track to the current hospitality management degree.
"We won't be teaching blackjack dealing," stated Harold Doty, business and economic development dean.
