Gambling Measure Would Stop Required Cruises - 2004-02-13
House members disclosed the highlights of a broad gambling expansion bill that could permit up to five new riverboat licenses in the state, lift cruising requirements for riverboat casinos and permit table games at racetracks such as craps, roulette and blackjack. Leaders from communities that are attempting to lure new casinos as an economic development tool applauded the bill, while gambling opponents stated that it would expand the industry too far.
