Gambling monitors need assistance, state official says - 2004-02-11
With a budget of $150,000 and only two agents supervising 18 Indian casinos, the leader of the state's gambling enforcement division stated Wednesday that he could use more funds and 16 additional agents to guarantee that the casinos' slot machines and blackjack games are above reproach.

Under the current compacts with the state, Minnesota's tribes have the approval to operate blackjack and video slots, and they pay the state solely the nominal rate for regulatory costs.
