. Slot machines are in control. About 64 percent of those polled admitted slot machines were their preferred casino game, up sharply from the previous year's 56 percent sum. Blackjack ranked second at 16 percent, while video poker ranked third (9 percent) in spite of a severe drop from 2002, when 17 percent of visitors deemed it their favorite.

Legislators Can't Decide On Expansion - 2004-02-10
State legislators are undecided on whether to expand gambling in Iowa, with close to half who answered a survey indicating that the state shouldn't hand out more casino licenses.

The uncertainty of whether to permit table games like blackjack at racetrack casinos drew an even narrow split. The survey discovered 42 percent contested the idea and 38 percent in favor, with the rest undecided.
