Idaho town considers gambling for economic boost - 2004-01-05
City leaders and a state senator believe permitting local-option gambling in the historic Shoshone County seat would revive their economy the way it revitalized Deadwood, S.D.
"We're kinda stuck up here in the Bitterroot Mountains, nestled in here all by ourselves. We're a depressed mining camp," Wallace Mayor Ron Garitone shared.
That casino gambling can involve video lottery terminals, but no card or table games, like poker, blackjack or roulette.
