I love the sound of the casino, though. Above the incessant, urgent hum of the gamblers crowded around roulette wheels and blackjack tables, there's a beautiful, chiming quality to the racket of the slots that sounds similar to a Steve Reich composition. I keep going back to the middle of the room to soak it up for minutes on end. It never eases. Nor does the crowd.
