Sheriff disregards casino crime, possible tax relief - 2004-01-28
The county's top cop doesn't see a major rise in crime if a casino comes to Madison, but he also doesn't see Dane County locals getting property tax relief, contrary to what's being declared by top county officials.
Based on talks with other law enforcement personnel in counties that currently have casinos, the sheriff isn't concerned about a massive crime wave hitting the city and county if slot machines, blackjack tables and other games substituting the bingo cards at DeJope.
