Odeon to take cut-price £300m - 2004-01-25
Vue, the one-time Warner Village cinema chain, has emerged as the leading buyer of Odeon in an agreement that would combine Britain's two biggest multiplexes.
But Vue is unlikely to pay over £300 million for its rival, leaving Odeon's shareholders - including 43% owner West LB and Guy Dellal, son of veteran City investor 'Black Jack' Dellal - with nothing after Odeon's borrowers have been repaid.
