With a $50 million advertising budget in its hip pocket to take its campaign to the media, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is preparing for a high-stakes gambit to advance the gaming industry exponentially in the state.
As for welcoming new types of gambling with the initiative proposed by the Agua Calientes, Battin insisted, "There is no distinction in my mind between allowing someone to play blackjack or work a slot machine and playing craps or roulette. It is just another game of chance."
