Casino opponents, supporters unveil dueling studies - 2004-01-21
A proposal to transform the Ho-Chunk Nation's bingo hall into a full casino would either contribute $47 million annually to Dane County's economy or rob it of $150 million a year, as reported in two competing studies.

The city, county and tribe revealed a proposal last year that would permit the Ho-Chunk Nation to redevelop its bingo hall along Interstate 39/90 into a casino giving Las Vegas-style games like craps, black jack and slots in exchange for the payments.

Regulators raise prohibition on gambler cheat - 2004-01-21
A man who was found cheating at Resorts International Casino less than month following its opening in 1978 has won the right to gamble again in Atlantic City.
Allen Perlman, 56, of Allentown, Pa., pleaded guilty to cheating at blackjack by putting bets after the cards were dealt.

Perlman, who owns a textile company in Catasauqua, Pa., stated that he has lived a law-abiding life since then and was tired of having to go to Las Vegas to gamble.
