Man involved in bribery scandal condemned in federal tax case - 2004-01-21
A Long Island man suspected by federal authorities of being behind a multimillion-dollar insurance scandal in Nassau County was convicted Wednesday of avoiding $1 million in income taxes, a prosecutor reported.

He also argued prosecution claims that Isernio had lost hundreds of thousands of dollars wagering on blackjack at casinos in the Bahamas, Atlantic City and Nevada.

Former Exec. Gets Guilty Verdict in Nassau Insurance Case - 2004-01-21
A former health insurance executive alleged to have been the mastermind in an insurance scam that cost Nassau taxpayers millions of dollars was found guilty on Wednesday of avoiding $1 million in income taxes, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors had reported that Mr. Isernio lost hundreds of thousands of dollars wagering on blackjack at casinos in the Bahamas, Atlantic City and Nevada, sometimes wagering $5,000 on a single hand.
