Proposed measure for non-Indian slot machines has opposition - 2004-01-16
Tribal leaders, shocked at a movement to end their statewide monopoly on lucrative slot-machine gambling, insist they are determined to contest a proposed ballot measure that would add the one-armed bandits to race tracks and non-Indian card clubs.

The initiative's supporters also features operators of card clubs, where games like poker and blackjack are permitted, but not slot machines.
