College Board decides future of proposed gaming management-related studies - 2004-01-15
The state College Board is intending next month to determine whether to authorize proposed programs related to casino management at the University of Southern Mississippi and Alcorn State University.

A 1997 attorney general's view says that teaching or training people to work a specific job of the gaming industry is prohibited, like a blackjack dealer, a slot machine mechanic, a casino manager or supervisor, or a manufacturer or equipment technician.

USM and Alcorn want in on casino degree programs - 2004-01-15
The University of Southern Mississippi and Alcorn State University are proposing that the state College Board next month give the go-ahead for new degree programs related to casino management.

A 1997 attorney general's opinion states that it is illegal for a public school or college teach or train people to work in the gaming industry, such as a blackjack dealer, a slot machine mechanic, a casino manager or supervisor, or a manufacturer or technician.
