GSN Minimizes Name, Widens Focus - 2004-01-10
As ESPN no longer really means Entertainment and Sports Programming Network and TLC is no longer The Learning Channel, GSN will shortly cease to stand for the Game Show Network.

The new name will debut at 10 p.m. ET Monday, March 15 with "The World Series of Blackjack," a six-episode show following a tournament of some of the planet's leading blackjack players.

GSN's Blackjack Series To Be Taped At Mohegan - 2004-01-10
GSN, the Network for Games, has chosen Mohegan Sun, one of the biggest entertainment, gaming and sports destinations in the United States, as the host site for GSN's "World Series of Blackjack".

Matt Vasgersian, San Diego Padres lead television broadcaster and earlier host of "Sports Geniuses" will act as host... and Max Rubin, casino expert, gambling consultant and professional blackjack player, will be the consulting commentator for the series.
